The Pleasure and the Pain

Seems like the presentation I gave at the London Book Fair was very popular! Well, the turn out was very good, with people unable to get in for lack of seats. So, here then I post up my presentation slides in PDF), in case anyone missed it.

This talk was given as one of the seminars organised by the Publishing Training Centre, where I run the Creating eBooks 2-day course.

I think now that maybe some of the talk was a little bit too 'techy' for some, but I felt I need to emphasie, that if you want to get into handcrafting your eBooks, then you need to dig-in to the markup and CSS a little bit.

I managed to get through the presentation (delivered with Keynote on the iPad) with room for a few questions but I did leave out the screencast of me going from InDesign to ePub and then from ePub to Mobi/Kindle. Showing this would have made me overun by at least 5 minutes. I will polish this up a bit and post under the screencasts. The talk was recorded, so I will add that to the podcasts when I get a chance!
